The spring 2010 Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) scores were released Thursday by the Arizona Department of Education. According to the ADE, test scores were “steady” in reading in grades three through five. In grades six through twelve, reading scores went up.
.
Science scores for grades four, eight and high school were also slightly higher.
.
Math scores overall decreased. This was an expected result due to new, rigorous internationally bench-marked math standards, however.
The AIMS writing test was administered for grades five, six, seven and high school. It was suspended for grades three, four and eight.
