Governor Brewer and cohorts,

You and the rest of state government want to over-turn or revise the "Voter Protection Act", so that you can amend and/or repeal the voter-approved "First Things First" initiative and misappropriate the funds (and its future revenues) for application to the state's General Fund. The courts previously told you "No!", in 2009, when an prior attempt to misappropriate "First Things First" funds to the General Fund (to offset some of the budget deficit) was made. So, now you want to remove that legal blockage, by repealing or revising the "Voter Protection Act" so that it allows you to modify or directly repeal the FTF Initiative and apply those funds to the state deficit. I don't agree with the FTF Initiative because it forces a disproportionate few to fund early healthcare services for all preschool children needing assistance to obtain such services. I don't oppose the FTF Initiative, itself, just how it's funded. I'm fed up with Arizona's government treating tobacco users like it's private "piggy bank" every time it needs additional tax revenue! What I DO oppose is the arrogance of a state governor and legislature that thinks it has the right to overrule and over-turn measures that have been voted into law, by the citizens of Arizona. If you do manage to somehow repeal the "First Things First Initiative", you should also have to rescind the tax increase on tobacco that it imposed to fund it, unless I am completely mistaken. Regardless, I ask you to remember that you are only in your respective positions solely by the grace and will of the people of Arizona and you can be just as easily replaced.

I paid into medical for this state for 30 years and now when I need it being diabetic because of the times the republicans say I should die. I WILL FIGHT THIS I voted and paid for it. The governor also now wants to make anyone eligable to teach which means even me however it's a great way to get rid of qualified teachers but have you seen me teach. I don't think so.

Ed Pastor, Jan Brewer et. al,

I was a teacher since 1974, have a degree from ASU BA ED and Certification until 2099, but cannot teach now due to a fingerprint issue with a disputed Domestic Violence charge in 1991. No charges or convictions of this sort have occurred since. I cannot work due to this amendment/law enacted in 2005.

I am probably one of the best teachers of English/Language Arts/Phonetics and have references to prove my worth.

So What Do I Do?
