State Tax Collections Fall as Arizona Awaits Governor’s Action on Budget

Arizona taxes continue to lag behind projections.  Reports for July tax revenues are off 10.5%.  More troubling is the fall in sales tax revenue, which is off 18% from the same month last year.  The state continues to await action by Governor Brewer on the budget.  She faces a Saturday deadline to act on the budget currently on her desk.  Neither the Governor, nor the legislature has acted on the deficit from still on the books from the 2009 budget, which stands at $479 million.  To read more click on the link below.
