K-12 Class Sizes a Growing Concern in Valley

.

With the opening of schools this August, many classes have ballooned in size.  This is directly related to cuts in K-12 funding by the AZ legislature,  and there is a  threat of more cuts to come.  Since the state of Arizona does not yet have a budget, schools were forced to open while “guessing” at funding levels for this academic year.  To read about the impact on schools in the Phoenix area, click below.

I live in Tucson and have seen the same thing! This is unacceptable. I have also checked into surrounding charter schools, but there are not many that are hitting the educational standards that I would want for my child. Thanks for that link on your website, by the way!

The sad thing in the article, is that parents are seeking out charter schools as an alternative to public school, which is exactly what legislators are hoping for. Public education is what they want to get rid of. Parents would do better to call legislators and demand they represent thier constituency.
