PHOENIX —Excerpt from Howard Fischer, Capital Media Services
.
Stung by the veto of key elements of the Republican budget plan, Senate President Bob Burns on Thursday declared Gov. Jan Brewer unqualified for the job.

Your AEN team hopes that Governor Brewer stands strong in face of tough opposition in regards to funding education. By vetoing the entire K-12 Education BRB (Budget Reconciliation Bill’s disallow for line-item vetoing, thus it is either accept the BRB as-is, or veto the entire bill, as Brewer did.), she has made a risky move in an attempt to get lawmakers to reconsider the devastation the previous education budget would have caused. Show your support by emailing a quick line to the governor at http://azgovernor.gov/Contact.asp.

What is interesting is that for some reason Burns and Adams think we’re all so stupid we really think that Brewer is trying to close down public education. It’s very disingenuous of them to claim that she is trying to decimate education because she had to veto the entire k-12 education bill because she couldn’t line-item veto the worst parts. Her bold attempt is to try to make the funding for k-12 more palatable. However, Brewer isn’t blameless. She needs, NEEDS, to be working with the democrats on this too. Obviously it’s not working out too well just trying to get a budget passed with only the interaction of her party.
No one is being served well with these childish antics…seriously, are these our state leaders or their 5 yr old children at the helm? It’s hard to tell!
No doubt!!!!!! Burns and his little buddy Kirk Adams must think none of us have been following this whole fiasco. They just want to cut education in this state into a million little pieces. And what about those Democrats that some of us elected into office to represent us? It isn’t ‘the Democrats’ that they are leaving out of the process…it is the millions of Arizonans who elected them that aren’t getting represented.
Happy Fourth of July to you folks by the way!
